Is Mer Car Polish suitable for all paint types e.g. Metallic?
Yes. The total thickness of most paint systems is roughly 140 microns thick including primer, colour and a clear layer of lacquer. The lacquer will account for 40 microns alone. When used with a light cutting pad, a slightly abrasive polish will only remove approximately 2 microns, whereas a fine grade polish such as Mer removes no paint only any oxidation from the surface. It also helps protect all paint surfaces, including metallics, from environmental and surface oxidation.
Before you start, make sure the vehicle is completely clean and dry and apply Mer Ultimate Polish with a cloth or polishing pad, using an overlapping circular motion. When a haze forms on the surface, buff with a clean dry cloth.
