1,600 electric car charge points promised for UK capital
Mayor Boris Johnson has just secured £17m in funding to provide Londoners with a further wave of electric car charge points across the city.
The Mayor of London is celebrating today as the funding for 1,600 additional electric car charge points across the capital is secured.
The charge points are due to be installed over the course of the next 12 months as part of a continuous roll out which the mayor hopes will result in at least 25,000 points being operational by 2015.
Pull up and plug in
The new charge points will be located in workplaces, on the street, in public and supermarket car parks, at tube stations and car clubs.
It’s hoped that by raising the visibility of charge points across the city, more than 100,000 Londoners will be converted to the technology by 2020.
